VOLKSWAGEN BAY WINDOW MICRO BUS
The VW Microbus: The Surfer’s Dream Vehicle
This beautifully restored 1978 VW should be on the ‘want’ list for any surfer, hippie or camper. The Microbus is a practical and cool mode of transportation and it’s as iconic as vehicles come. Not only is it visually stunning but it’s pretty much in its original state too; everything that couldn’t be restored has been made new and built to replicate the original factory specification too.
First of all, the paint job is absolutely amazing; the brown and red coloring is an official Champagne Edition color scheme and compliments the shape of the van completely. The interior has been restored with some serious care; even the seat coverings were ordered from Germany and it’s a genuine VW factory material from back in the day too. All of the chrome work has been painstakingly restored or replaced and everything looks as shiny and new as it did back in ’78.
Pop the chassis on top of four exquisite two-tone wheels, with shiny chrome hubs and stick a finely tuned 2.0 liter engine into the mix and you’ve got yourself a van worth driving.
Imagine sitting behind that bay window whilst cruising along a coastal road. It’d be awesome!
